1901-1968
The Dresswalla business was first started in india by late Shri Deepchandji Salgia , the founder pillar of Humad Jain Samaj Mumbai, in 1932. Initially, it was his hobby to provide wedding outfits to the natives of Pratapgarh - Rajasthan and he was mainly associated with Bullion trading at Bullion Exchange, Mumbai.

In 1970’s, the costume supply was started to films. Chhotubhai Dresswalla has been associated with films of many languages. The then Information & Broadcasting Minister Shri. K.P. Singhdev has commented that the job of introducing costumes of one state to another state is a good contribution for NATIONAL INTERGRATION. Besides, Chhotobhai Dresswalla have also supplied Costumes
for following worldwide popular T.V. Serials which had received highest TRP's.
